Assam takes major decision for Bhutanese medical students

Guwahati : To boost relations between India and Bhutan,  the Assam government has decided to reserve two seats for Bhutanese students from this academic year in all medical colleges in the state. In fact, with the help of the Chinese government, several North-Eastern terrorist organizations have set up camps in the forests of the Indo-Bhutan border areas. To overcome this, It is very important for India to join hands with Bhutan. It is building diplomatic relations against China to work closely with Bhutan.

 Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, India’s Ambassador to Bhutan Ruchira Kamboj said, “As directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Assam government has allotted two MBBS seats to Bhutan from this academic year to promote people-to-people relations with the living between our two countries. MesmeringAssam Bhutan. Reportedly, a few months ago, Bhutan’s Consul General in Guwahati, Phub Shering, had placed a request before Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for reservation of seats.

The consul general had met the chief minister and requested for allotment of MBBS seats, the official said. Sarma had asked Shering to make a written request. The Assam government decided to consider two MBBS seats with full scholarship for Bhutanese candidates a fortnight ago, subject to approval and approval by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. He said that as per the assam government’s plan, both the seats will be allotted from the central pool of MBBS seats in medical institutions in the state. Chief Minister Himanta Sarma took to his Twitter to express his happiness to meet Mr. Phub Shering, Consul General of Bhutan in Guwahati. We are committed to maintaining harmony between Assam and Bhutan.
