Average rate of COVID infection considerably decreases in Assam’s Darrang District

Mangaldai : In Darrang district of Assam the average rate of COVID 19 infection has come down significantly over the last few days. This can be evident from the results of mass Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) carried out across the district on September 28, 29,30 last under the aegis of NHM, Darrang. Talking to this correspondent District Programme Manager, NHM, Nayana Parashar on Thursday said,  “During the three days of special test drive a total of 11,097 RAT were conducted against the target of 8400 where results of altogether 150 cases tested positive which is just over one percent of the total tests covered.”

Meanwhile till Wednesday Darrang recorded thirteen COVID deaths with the death of one more COVID patient namely Jeherul Islam (15) in GMCH on Tuesday night. On the other hand the district registered a total of 3891 COVID positive cases out of which 3459 have been discharged. Among the 432 present active positive cases 160 patients are undergoing treatment in four Covid Care Centres while 230 positive persons are in home isolations. In the meantime the district authority has already closed functioning all the thirty three quarantine centres earlier opened for local citizens migrated from other states of the country.
