AWL reports strong Q1 FY27 results with robust profitability Operating EBITDA up 34% YoY

AWL Agri Business Limited (“AWL”), one of India’s leading Food FMCG companies, today announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The Company delivered another quarter of broad-based profitable growth, reflecting continued progress on its strategy of Building India’s Trusted Food Platform. Consolidated Revenue grew 18% YoY to INR 20,048 Crore, supported by healthy underlying volume growth of 7% YoY. Operating EBITDA grew by 34% YoY to INR 693 Crore, while Profit After Tax grew 48% YoY to INR 351 Crore, reflecting stronger execution across businesses, disciplined cost management, improving product mix and healthy contribution from all business segments.

The quarter was marked by sustained momentum in the Food & FMCG business, robust profitability in Edible Oil despite a dynamic commodity environment, and healthy earnings contribution from Industry Essentials. Alternate Channels continued to significantly outperform general trade, with Quick Commerce further strengthening its position as an important growth engine for the Company’s oil & food portfolio.

Segment Update

Food & FMCG

Food & FMCG continued its strong growth trajectory during the quarter, clocking revenue of INR 1,726 Crore, a 22% YoY growth. The segment also delivered INR 100+ Crore EBITDA, maintaining moderate profitability despite continued investments behind brands, trade promotions and distribution expansion.

Growth remained broad-based across the portfolio, with Rice once again emerging as the fastest-growing category, recording more than 40% YoY growth, reflecting the benefits of strategic initiatives undertaken over the past few quarters. Core staples including Wheat Flour, Pulses, Besan, Poha and other packaged food categories also continued to witness healthy consumer demand and distribution-led growth.

Other Food & FMCG categories such as soya nuggets, poha, sugar, soaps, biryani kit, etc. also continued to gain meaningful scale, with double digit growth.

Edible Oils

The Edible Oil business delivered 2% YoY volume growth during the quarter, while maintaining robust profitability despite continued volatility in global edible oil markets.

The segment witnessed temporary channel destocking during the quarter amid fluctuations in global edible oil prices. However, underlying consumer demand remained resilient.

Strong execution, improved pricing discipline, better ability to pass through input cost movements and continued premiumization across select markets supported healthy profitability during the quarter.

Industry Essentials

Industry Essentials continued to deliver healthy growth and robust profitability during the quarter, with volume growing 13% YoY and revenue increasing 28% YoY.

The Oleochemicals & Specialty Chemicals business, which contributes around 40% of the segment’s revenue, recorded double-digit growth while sustaining high single digit EBITDA margins.

The Company continues to strengthen its presence in specialty and value-added applications across diverse end-use industries and remains focused on progressively increasing the contribution of Oleochemicals & Specialty Chemicals within the Industry Essentials portfolio. To support this strategy, the Company is also expanding its oleochemicals manufacturing capacity in Southern India, which is expected to further strengthen its value-added product portfolio and long-term growth prospects.

Channel Update

GTM & Distribution Update

The Company continued to strengthen its distribution network during the year, with the direct retail universe expanding by more than 100,000 outlets on a YoY basis.

Sequential outlet additions remained largely stable during the quarter as the Company is increasingly focused on improving distribution productivity, throughput across existing outlets and enhancing the quality and depth of distribution.

Rural town coverage remained strong at more than 63,000 towns, reinforcing the Company’s extensive pan-India distribution footprint and deep rural reach.

Alternate Channels

Alternate Channels (E-commerce, Quick Commerce & Modern Trade) continued to significantly outperform general trade, growing 27% YoY during the quarter. On a Last Twelve Months (LTM) basis, revenues from Alternate Channels crossed INR 5,600+ Crore, underlining the increasing strategic importance of these channels within the Company’s growth agenda.

Quick Commerce remained the fastest-growing channel, registering 56% YoY growth. Continued investments in digitization, technology, data analytics and channel-specific execution capabilities have enabled the Company to meaningfully strengthen its presence across this rapidly evolving ecosystem.

Other Channels

         HoReCa: The HoReCa business delivered 30% YoY growth during the quarter, supported by stronger customer off-take, improved execution, expansion into newer towns and continued addition of channel partners and distributors.

         Branded Exports: Branded Exports too continued to scale rapidly, with volumes doubling during the quarter. Growth was supported by accelerated distribution expansion across international markets, deeper market activation initiatives and onboarding of new distribution partners across key geographies, reinforcing the Company’s growing global food franchise amongst Indian diaspora abroad.

Update on Subsidiaries

GD Foods (Sauces & Condiments business)

GD Foods continued its strong growth trajectory during the quarter, with revenue growth of 23% YoY, supported by healthy growth across both General Trade and Alternate Channels. Continued distribution expansion, stronger execution and improving brand visibility are helping the business strengthen its presence across key packaged food categories.

Omkar Chemicals (specialty chemicals business)

Omkar Chemicals reported double-digit volume growth during the quarter. In Q1 FY27, revenues grew by 41% YoY, with underlying volume growth of 18%, reflecting strong scale-up and improved operating performance.
