Beti Bachao Abhiyan to be launched afresh in the state

Bhopal:  Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Beti Bachao Abhiyan will be launched afresh in the state. Under the campaign, attention will be paid to every aspect of the girl child right from birth to education, security and empowerment. The nutrition policy of Madhya Pradesh is ready and will be finalized soon. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to implement the Integrated Management Programme of severely malnourished children in the state. We will end malnutrition completely. Our motto is “Poshit Parivar-Suposhit Madhya Pradesh”.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the works of Women and Child Development Department in Mantralaya today. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Shri Ashok Shah and Principal Secretary Shri Manoj Govil were present in the meeting.

Intensive efforts being made to remove malnutrition in children

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that intensive efforts are being made to remove malnutrition of children in the state. Under this, regular weighing of children, nutritious food supply, treatment and nutrition management of malnourished children at the community level, additional nutritious food supply, treatment and care of severely malnourished children at nutritional rehabilitation centres is being done. A ‘Nutrition Dashboard’ has been prepared for monitoring nutrition services.

Incentive on improvement in nutrition level

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that under the ‘Posht Parivar-Suposhit Madhya Pradesh’ programme, the family is given incentive and respect for improving the nutritional level of children with severe malnutrition.

Kitchen gardens in anganwadi centres

Kitchen gardens are being developed in 62 thousand 500 Anganwadi centres of the state. Gram Aarogya Kendra is being expanded in all anganwadi centres. Currently, they are established in 51 thousand 500 centres.

Madhya Pradesh tops in Matru Vandana Yojana

Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the whole country in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. As much as 152 percent achievement has been made in the state under this scheme.

Safe city programme in 7 cities of the state

Safe city program has been started in seven cities of the state for the safety of women. It is to be extended to the entire state in the next one year. Under this, a safe environment will be created for women in public places, transport etc. and community awareness will be generated.

Around 400 Ladli Laxmis in Class XIth and XIIth

Officials said that out of the girls who were provided benefits under Ladli Laxmi Yojana, about 400 girls are now in Class XIth and XIIth. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that attention should be paid to higher education and career building of these girls.
