Amit Shah has addressed a rally at Sarbhog in Borpeta district at 12 noon, after which a rally was prepared at Baknipur and Jalukbari, but union Home Minister Amit Shah’s election campaign in Assam has stopped in the midst of the death of 22 Jawans in the Naxal encounter in Chhattisgarh. The Home Minister is arriving in Delhi this evening. Here, the Home Minister will formulate a strategy with the officials on the Chhattisgarh incident. Earlier, union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah today addressed an election rally in Barpeta district of Assam, accusing the Congress of dividing the people to govern. The Congress cannot solve any problem and their leader Rahul Gandhi comes as a tourist in the state. The home minister claimed, he has no vision for development. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday accused the Congress party of not having any direct agenda for assam’s development and insisted that the NDA’s “dual-engine government will continue to ensure the development of the state.”
Addressing an election rally in Barpeta district on the last day of campaigning for the third and final phase of elections in Assam, Shah accused the Congress of dividing the people to rule them, while the BJP follows the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwa” (Sabka Saath, Development for All and Faith in All). The Congress cannot solve any problem and their leader Rahul Gandhi comes as a tourist in the state. The home minister claimed that he had no vision for development. I came to you five years ago and urged you to believe the Prime Minister and promise that we will end violence and movements. The BJP government in the state and Modi ji have ensured this during the last five years and now the state is moving in the path of progress and development,” he said. He said, “in the next term, the NDA is committed to make the state flood free and the Prime Minister has already started the process.
Shah said that the two phases of elections in the state are already over and he claimed that we are confident that in these two phases alone, the BJP has won a majority to form the next government. Referring to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Home Minister Shah said that I share another good news with you. He also claimed, “Elections are also taking place in West Bengal and Didi is going to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP is coming BJP will win more than 200 seats in neighbouring state west Bengal. Highlighting the achievements of the BJP government, Shah said that during the last five years, the historic Bodo agreement was signed and more than 2000 youth have surrendered and returned to the mainstream. He asked rhetorically, “Do you want a government that spreads violence or a double-engine government that spreads growth”. He also accused the Congress of giving free hands to poachers in Kaziranga national park and “if his government had been formed, the Gaurav rhinoceros of Assam would have been a thing of the past.”
