A senior Assam police official GP Singh said that the recent bomb blast at a school in Lalapur near the Assam-Mizoram border may try to terrorize the local people.

Assam Police will request to hand over the investigation of the incident to a central agency. GP Singh said, “There was an explosion in a school. This deployment has been made in view of the ongoing activities towards Assam. These activities threaten the peace system. These policemen will be withdrawn as soon as the situation on the border towards Assam is normal. Hundreds of freighter vehicles have been gathering on both sides due to the stalemate on the border. In Guwahati, Assam government minister and senior BJP leader Hemant Vishwa Sharma has said that ending the border dispute with other north-eastern states of the state is the top most priority of his party. He said, the central government will initiate the process of resolving the issue after the Assam assembly elections in about six months.

While Mizoram Minister for Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Lalrinliana has said that two truck cooking gas cylinders and five tanker fuels have been sought from Manipur. Similarly, cooking gas and fuel supply from Tripura is being ensured with the help of Indian Oil Corporation.
