GUWAHATI : In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, 06 Bn BSF and 38 Bn BSF under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended 03 Indian smugglers along with Liquor & rescued cattle heads on 28th April 2021 from bordering area of village Kismat Karala P.S Sahebganj, Distt- Coochbehar (West Bengal) and village Nagtachar, PS- Kharwabanda, Distt- South Salmara (Assam). Acting on tip off, on 28th April 2021, BSF troops of Border outpost (BOP) Karla of 38 Bn BSF carried out a special operation in the general area of village Kismat Karala close to Indo-Bangladesh border. Operation party searched a E-Rickshaw near Natkabari and recovered 58 bottle of liquor which was concealed under the seat box. Alert BSF troops apprehended two miscreants along with above E-Rickshaw while the consignment was trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Details of apprehended smugglers are as under:- (a) Ukil Barman (46 Yrs), S/o- Grin Barman, R/o- Vill- Kismat karala-1, PO- Natkobari, PS- Sahebganj, Distt- Coochbehar(West Bengal), (b) Dulal Barman, (38 Yrs), S/o – Banomali Barman, Address-Vill- Kismat Karala-01, PO- Natkobari, PS- Sahebganj, Distt-Coochbehar (West Bengal). Apprehended Indian smugglers and seized items have been handed over to P.S. Sahebganj, Distt.- Coochbehar (West Bengal) for further legal action. 05. In another operation, acting on tip off, on 28th April 2021, BSF troops of Border outpost (BOP) Sishumara of 06 Bn BSF carried out a special operation in the general area of village Nagtachar close to Indo-Bangladesh riverine border. Alert troops apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler and rescued cattle heads while these were trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Details of apprehended cattle smuggler is as under:- Badshah Harunal Rasid (22 Yrs), S/o Mainal Seikh, R/o vill-Fulerchar, PO. Kokradanga, PS. Kharwabanda, Distt. South Salmara (Assam). Keeping in view of the vulnerability of border, heightened activities of the smugglers and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes & illegal infiltration and are making all out efforts to prevent commission of such crimes.
