BTR Chief Pramod Boro inaugurated Jal Jeevan Mission in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive Pramod Boro formally inaugurated the piped water supply scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission at Bhotgaon in presence of executive members Dr Nilut Swargiary and Arup Kumar Dey.

Talking to Reporters, the BTR chief said under the Jal Jeevan Mission, residents in rural areas will be provided pure drinking water. He said 2.5 lakhs people will get regular water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission in Bodoland region in the next two years. He expressed hope that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the problem of safe and pure water faced by the people will be solved.

BTR executive member Dr Nilut Swargiary said under the JJM  29 completed PWSS scheme of BTR connected

Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC)  to three thousand and fifteen households and ensured accessed of piped water potable drinking water to rural households.

He said two successfully completed retrofitting work of Bhotgaon PWSS & Fakiragram Purani Bazar PWSS under Kokrajhar PHE Division were inaugurated today in Kokrajhar district.

The ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’, is a joint initiative of the state and Central government to bring drinking water to all rural households in the state. The project is aimed at making available pure water in all rural households.

The programme was attended by other district officials of PHE department,  beneficiaries and contractors.
