New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show-cause notices to 27 schools in Rajasthan and Delhi for violating its by-laws. The CBSE said in a release that it had conducted surprise inspections at these schools and found several violations in their functioning, particularly concerning their enrollment and attendance practices. Twenty-two of these institutions are located in two regions of Delhi, and five are from the Ajmer region.
The inspections revealed that schools had enrolled a higher number of students in Class XI and XII who were not physically attending the classes. The Board added that discrepancies were also discovered in the attendance records maintained by these schools. Apart from these violations, the CBSE found some institutions flouting infrastructural norms and compromising the quality of education and safety for students.
