CM Chouhan meets Transport Minister  Gadkari;  urged for 21 flyovers in 10 cities

Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday met Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari at his residence in New Delhi and discussed various issues related to road transport and highways in the state. The Chief Minister requested the Central Road Infrastructure Fund to issue administrative approval for 37 works costing Rs 3,257 crore. Chief Minister Chouhan urged to approve construction works of 21 flyovers in 10 cities under Setu Bandhan Yojana to make traffic smooth in big and medium cities of the state. In the meeting, technical and financial aspects of Atal Pragati Path, Delhi-Badodara Expressway, Setu Bandhan Yojana, ropeway construction, etc. were discussed in detail.

Chouhan requested Union Minister to speed up the process of land acquisition, forest, and environment-related permissions due to the modification of the road alignment of Atal Pragati Path. Chouhan said that government land would be made available free of cost for the project. Apart from this, the state government will also provide equivalent government land free of cost instead of private land. The Chief Minister informed that Delhi-Badodara Expressway is passing through important roads of Madhya Pradesh at 7 places, where a total of 475 km of four-lane road needs to be constructed for connectivity. Chouhan urged to make Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation a construction agency for this.

Chief Minister Chouhan informed the union minister that ropeway construction is proposed at 15 places in the state on the PPP model and requested to direct the National Highway Logistics Management Company to prepare the feasibility report related to this at the earliest. The Chief Minister  also urged the Union Government for grant approval to Central Road Infrastructure Fund for the widening of the 7 km long Malivaya-Salkanpur-Nilakchar road in Sehore district so that the way for Salkanpur Devi temple visitors could be made easier.
