CM Chouhan releases Rs. 21 crore 92 lakh to Sahariya, Baiga and Bharia women

Bhopal: Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government is committed to the welfare of those who are at the bottom and lag far behind in development. These classes also have the first right over the government treasury. Tribal society is basically a society of simple people, who are lag behind in the race for development. The backward tribes have the right over every resource of the earth just as much as others. That is why I am sending your rightful money to your accounts. Chief Minister  Chouhan was addressing a video conferencing programme organized for the transfer of Aahar Anudan Yojna to women of Sahariya, Baiga and Bharia tribes through a single click.

Chief Minister  Chouhan transferred an amount of Rs 21 crore 92 lakh 58 thousand to the accounts of 2 lakh 19 thousand 258 beneficiaries by single click at a video conference at Mantralaya.

Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Su Meena Singh and Principal Secretary Smt. Pallavi Jain Govil were also present in the programme. Chief Minister  Chouhan also interacted with the beneficiaries through video conference. It may be noted that, an amount of Rs. 1000 is transferred directly to the account of the female head of the family to improve the nutrition level of special backward Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya tribe families under the Aahar Anudan Yojna.

Book on “Aahar Anudan Yojna-Impact Assessment” released

Chief Minister  Chouhan also released a book focusing on the study conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, Bhopal on the impact assessment of Aahar Anudan Yojna.

Amount to be released every month

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that the previous government had not paid food subsidy to the backward tribes. We started releasing food subsidy to the accounts of women of Sahariya, Baiga and Bharia tribes soon after forming the government. More than Rs 226 crore has been transferred to the accounts of more than 2 lakh 22 thousand women so far this year. Now the amount will be released in these accounts every month.

     Ayushman cards of every person belonging to Special Backward Tribe category should be made

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that the state government has special concern for tribal brethren. We have to arrange for food, clothing and shelter for the poor. The state government is constantly working on every aspect be it the education of children or the provision of medicines, employment opportunities or ration or construction of concrete houses for everyone. Chief Minister  Chouhan said that free coaching and financial assistance has been arranged for tribal students for exams like JEE, NEET and CLAT. Chief Minister  Chouhan directed to ensure that Ayushman cards are made of every person belonging to the special backward tribe class.

Bhariya, Baiga, Sahariya women should join self-help groups

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that tap water will be provided in every house in the next few years. Chief Minister  Chouhan inspired Bharia, Baiga and Sahariya women to join self-help groups. This will open up avenues for increasing income, which women can use to improve the health and education of their family.

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that small forest produce has been purchased on support price to ensure increase in income of tribal families. A law has been enacted to free people from exploitation by moneylenders. Tribal people will not have to repay the loans taken without following rules and procedures, from moneylenders in notified areas of the state. Chief Minister  Chouhan called for utilizing the amount given under the Aahar Anudan Yojna  for themselves and their families.

CM interacts with beneficiaries

Chief Minister  Chouhan interacted with the beneficiaries of Shivpuri, Mandla, Chhindwara district through video conference. Chief Minister  Chouhan said that I have gone to Sahariya dominated village, Sesai Road, Baigachak and Patalkot. The sensitivity of the Baigas is amazing. They do not plough their fields as they feel it will injure Mother Earth. The attraction of clean houses of the Bhariya tribe is amazing and Sahariya is a tribe that lives with lions.

I wish to visit Patalkot

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that I wish to come to Patalkot once again. Smt. Savitri Bai of Chhindwara told in the discussion that she works as a labourer. She receives funds regularly under the scheme. Chief Minister  Chouhan said that the idea of ​​Aahar Anudan Yojna  started only after the visit of Patalkot.

It’s a conversation between siblings – no one should talk in between

In a conversation with Smt. Sumitra Bai Sahariya of Sesai road village in Shivpuri district, Chief Minister  Chouhan inquired about the family, sources of income, education of children and government schemes. When another person intervened and started giving information, Chief Minister  Chouhan stopped him saying that it is “a conversation between siblings – no one should talk in between”. Chief Minister  Chouhan told Sumitra Bai that this money is being given particularly for nutrition requirements of the family. He told her to use the money properly and take care of the family’s health.  Chouhan also inquired about Ayushman card from Sumitra Bai.

Get ration card made immediately

Smt. Seema Bhartiya of Devdara gram panchayat in Mandla told Chief Minister  Chouhan, during a discussion that she goes to Mandla for work. She has three children, studying in Class IXth and Xth. Seema said that the Aahar Anudan Yojna  has helped in the maintenance of the family. Hearing that she has no ration card, Chief Minister  Chouhan instructed the officials to get her card made immediately. Similarly, after talking to Smt. Munni Bai of Devdara Mandla, Chief Minister  Chouhan gave instructions to construct her house on priority.
