Mangaldai : Darrang District Administration is ready for counting of ballots of the Panchayat election held in the first phase on December 5 last. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the temporary counting centre set up at Mangaldai College where counting will be done on Wednesday. According to District Information and Public Relation Officer counting will be started from 8 am separately in fourteen halls in a total of one hundred forty counting tables ten in each hall. A total of five hundred and sixty officials four against each table have been directly engaged besides few other officials in reserve bench, the source added. The authority has expected the results of Zila Parishad Constituencies to be announced either late at night or early in the next morning. However results of other three levels of Panchayat – AP (Member) , GP (President) and GP (Member) are expected to be announced before evening. It may be mentioned here that political fate of a total of 2470 candidates will be decided following this counting of ballots.
