New Delhi : The future of steel and stainless steel industry  in the country  will continue to be defined by two uncompromising pillars–quality and sustainability-led growth. Country needs to prioritise quality and mainstream sustainable solutions to build infrastructure that is stronger, safer, and lasts longer. The journey will continue to demand collaboration across the value chain, so that the entire ecosystem works towards this common goal.

“Indian steel and stainless steel have evolved to become the backbone of a resilient, future-ready nation. As we look ahead, the sector’s next phase of growth must be defined by sustainability and quality. These are also the priorities for us  at Jindal Stainless to produce stainless steel that stands the test of time and reduces CO₂ emissions. I am confident that more such industry dialogues, coupled with impactful actions, will take us forward.” Said Mr. Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless while speaking at a conference  ‘Make in Steel, Make in Bharat’ organised by Metalogic PMS.

“To make India more self-reliant, it will be extremely important for us to invest in steel and different loads of steel to be made in India, so that we are less dependent on its import. Equipment is currently very low; despite this equipment manufacturers exist in India who actually do a very good quality job. Quality brings me to the cruciality of sustainability.” Said MS Sminu Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal SAW Ltd while speaking on the occasion .

She further concluded by stating that, “India is at a threshold where it’s talking about making the best of steel, yet doing it sustainably is a double challenge that we all have to accept. Steel is strength, steel is stability and steel is the spirit of self-reliance in India. So, let’s take a pledge to make in steel and make in India”.

“The conference is indeed inspired by the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister who spoke on the sector the other day and shared all the actions taken by the government to help the sector grow sustainably to be the global hub for steel by 2047.The steel industry is highlighted as the backbone of India’s progress and a key driver for achieving the goal of a $5 trillion economy. India aims to produce 300 million tonnes of steel by 2030 and increase per capita steel consumption from 98 kg to 160 kg. “ said Mr Yatinder Pal Singh Suri , Co-chsir, CII< Corrosion Management Committee  while speaking on the occasion .
