Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has stressed on the need to upgrade knowledge and skills to cater to the post-Covid world. He said that the country needs to focus on skill, scale and speed to remain globally competitive in a post- Covid world.
In an article written in a leading daily, Mr. Naidu asserted that various initiatives under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan are meant to reboot the economy and protect livelihoods across rural and urban areas.
He said the campaign which aims to push self reliance, seeks to build capacities across sectors and promote local products in the country as well as globally.
Mr. Naidu emphasised on the need to build globally-competitive Indian brands while remaining vocal about local. He said Indians are heading several Multi National Companies and there is no dearth of knowledge and talent in the country. However, he reiterated the importance of upgrading the skills of the youth to meet the employment needs of technology- driven 21st century.
Terming the uncertainty created by the Covid-19 pandemic as an opportunity, he stressed on the importance of adoption of digital technology along with development of soft skills. The Vice President affirmed the belief that India has the potential to emerge as the global hub for providing skilled manpower to other nations.
