Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that due to the schemes of the state government, today the society has started considering daughters as a boon and along with women empowerment, social revolution is also taking place. On Sunday, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan attended the mass marriage ceremony of more than 425 couples of Gond and Korku communities at Piplani village in Bhairunda tehsil of Sehore district. He showered flowers on the newly-weds and blessed them and gave cheques for the amount of Mukhya Mantri Kanya-Vivah Yojana.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it is a matter of good fortune that since the inception of the scheme, the state level mass marriage ceremony is being conducted. He said that with the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, there has been a significant reduction in the sex ratio gap in the state. The result of the scheme was also that now daughters are being considered as a boon and not a curse in the state. Daughters are becoming self-dependent by getting educated and are participating in the development of the state. The Chief Minister said that the state government is taking care of the arrangements for the education of these daughters and also the expenses of their marriage. Due to the effective influence of Ladli Laxmi Yojana, daughters are no longer considered a burden. He said that the provision of reservation in local body elections and government jobs has empowered the women of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana will also change the lives of poor sisters. Under the scheme, women in the 23 to 60 age group will now get an opportunity to live life with dignity in the society and family. He said that so far one crore 21 lakh women have filled the forms under the scheme. Each eligibl e womanwill start getting the benefit of the scheme of Rs 1000 from the month of June.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan laid the foundation stone of construction works worth more than Rs 53 crore for construction of various roads including Senior Scheduled Tribe Hostel, Higher Secondary School in village Piplani. The Chief Minister also announced the construction of a Dharamshala in Bhairunda on the request of the Gond community. The Chief Minister bade farewell to the daughters by singing the lines of the song “Mama ki duayen leti ja, ja tujhko sukhi sansar mile”. Animal Husbandry, Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Minister Shri Premsingh Patel, MP Shri Ramakant Bhargava, public representatives including MLAs and a large number of Gond and Korku community citizens were present.
