Deepti Malhotra, Post Graduate Teacher, Computer Science, at Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, has been honoured with the Shikshak Mahakumbh – State Teachers’ Awards 2026 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, in recognition of her contribution to education and her efforts towards preparing students to navigate the evolving digital landscape with awareness and responsibility.
Over the years, Ms Malhotra has conducted several workshops and awareness sessions on cyber safety and cyber ethics, addressing important aspects such as online privacy, digital footprints, responsible online conduct, social media safety and precautions while using digital platforms. She has also incorporated relevant applications of Artificial Intelligence into classroom learning, while encouraging students to question, assess information critically and use emerging technologies with sound judgement.
Her efforts have also contributed to the school’s initiative towards becoming an AI- and cyber-safe school, with a focus on equipping students with the awareness and judgement required to use digital tools responsibly.
Commenting on the recognition, Dr Alka Kapur, Principal, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, said that the honour reflects Ms Malhotra’s consistent efforts to bring emerging areas of learning into the classroom and help students become more mindful of their online habits and responsibilities.
The recognition also highlights the school’s broader approach towards keeping education relevant to the changing needs of students and preparing them not only for their academic journey but also for the challenges and opportunities of the digital world.
