Digitory Launches INV 2.0 to Help Restaurants Cut Food Costs, Reduce Wastage, and Protect Profitability

Traditionally, inventory management remained an overlooked backend function in the F&B business sphere which only worked as a ledger to note purchases, count stock, and close reports month on month. However, the operating costs have become unpredictably high and eating into margins which have led restaurant business owners to look beyond traditional inventory management alone is no longer enough to keep operations profitable. Addressing this gap, Digitory – a homegrown restaurant operations tech solutions provider, has launched INV 2.0, its upgraded inventory and cost intelligence platform designed for modern F&B businesses.

Built through extensive feedback from restaurant owners, chefs, purchase managers, F&B controllers, and finance teams, INV 2.0 goes beyond stock tracking to focus on the operational issues that quietly erode restaurant margins, uncontrolled food costs, wastage, leakages, over-ordering, and delayed visibility into real profitability.

“Most restaurants don’t struggle because of lack of customers. They struggle because costs spiral before operators even realise it,” said Sandeep S., Head of Product Delivery & Client Relations at Digitory. “Food cost is the single largest variable in restaurant operations. Once it crosses sustainable levels, margins collapse quickly. INV 2.0 was built to help restaurants identify and control those leakages in real time.”

Whilst conventional systems are dependent on retrospective reporting, INV 2.0 intelligently offers real-time visibility on costing, AI-backed demand forecasting, FIFO-based costing, and automates purchase planning, and nudges about sudden anomaly. The platform deeply studies historic data and considers weekends, demand surge during festivities, and forecasts weather-oriented inventory requirements to minimise wastage and in turn save on costs from bleeding.

In its new iteration, INV 2.0 is also equipped with an Action Centre module that flags supply chain delays, stock variances, expiry risks, and unusual consumption behaviour well in time to keep the operations smooth and insulated from collapsing. Automating mundane inventory management tasks and helping procure inventory based on data insights reduces manual dependency.

Digitory has stated that restaurants using INV 2.0 religiously have seen significant drop in excessive food costs, wastage, and have seen an uptick in operational efficiency. As per the company, a mere reduction of 3% in food costs can make restaurants profitable and becomes the cornerstone defining prolonged sustainability.
