Dim Sum, Wok Trails, and Shared Tables: How Yoichi by Shiro is Celebrating Regional Chinese Heritage

0 5

Bengaluru : Yoichi by Shiro, is launching a curated regional Chinese menu showcase at Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru, shifting the spotlight to the fluid, high-spirited essence of regional Chinese culinary craft. Chinese gastronomy is extraordinarily diverse, broadly divided into eight distinct culinary traditions. At Yoichi, this rich heritage takes centre stage through an atmosphere designed for shared plates, continuous conversation, and soul-warming comfort.

Central to this experience is a culinary program curated to transport diners straight to the heart of Guangdong and Sichuan, highlighting the essential staples of a true Chinese feast: delicate steamed dim sum, open-faced baos, and fragrant wok-stirred specialities. The dim sum selection showcases a diverse spectrum of regional craft, ranging from translucent Har Gau stuffed with sweet prawns and classic Prawn & Chicken Suimai, to the comfort of Cantonese Chicken Wontons and fiery Vegetable Wontons with Sichuan Chilli Oil. For those seeking texture and modern flair, the kitchen serves up soft, pillowy Tamanegi Gua Bao, Katsu Chicken Gua Bao, and Crispy Duck Gua Bao packed with hoisin and cucumbers, while Chicken Dumplings with Sichuan Chilli Oil bring a signature Sichuan kick to the table.

This menu is an ode to technique and balance, showcasing authentic regional traditions. The journey begins with delicate steamed dumplings before moving to the satisfying sizzle of the wok. Comforting classics like Kung Pao (Potato, Chicken, or Fish) and Kung Pao Chicken Skewers bring a lively play of sweet, tangy warmth and peanut crunch. Bold, silky Black Bean Sauce dishes deliver deep savory depth, while rustic Claypots, like Chicken with Shiitake or Tobanjang Mince Pork with Eggplant, bring pure comfort to the table.

No meal is complete without staple grains and noodles. In Chinese culture, long, unbroken noodles symbolize longevity and prosperity, so no cutting them at the table! Guests can slurp up this tradition with wok-hei-infused Ho Fun, pepper-laced Black Pepper Noodles, classic Street Hakka, or curry-spiced Singaporean Mei Fun. It’s an authentic regional dining experience celebrating tradition, luck, and flavor.
