Haaflong : Saraswati Puja, the occasion of paying obeisance to the Goddess of Learning, was celebrated with festive fervor and gaiety throughout the district of Dima Hasao.
Educational institutions and other learning institutes including religious institution observed the puja with religious 
rituals on their campuses. Students turned up in large numbers in the venues to seek the blessings of the goddess.
This was followed by the partaking of prasad and khichiri. The festive spirit was evident in the city since morning with young girl students dressed in their dazzling best hitting the streets and thronging the puja venues in their hordes.
At Haflong the major educational institutions such as Haflong Government College, Govt Boys’ H S school, Govt Girls HS School etc. drew huge crowds. The festivities started early in the morning followed by chanting of various mantras.
At Langting, Saraswati Puja was celebrated with great enthusiasm, students particularly the young girls turned up in good numbers wearing saris, and traditional dresses.
