DISHA , Darrang decided to allot govt land to landless beneficiaries of PMAY-G

Mangaldai : Mangaldai Loksabha MP Dilip Saikia in a meeting of DISHA ( District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee ) as its chairman has reviewed the present status of different developmental schemes undergoing in the aspirational district . The meeting at the deputy commissioner’s office conference hall here on April 29, discussed the progress of the centrally sponsored schemes including MGNERGA , PMAY , JJM , PM KISHAN NIDHI, social assistance programmes for Divyang , elders and women among others .

The meeting also reviewed the execution status of the state government run development programmes like Chief Minister’s Samagra Gramya Yojana , Aroonuday etc . Later talking to ANN, MP Saikia said that the meeting discussed in a thread bare manner the failure to achieve the desired result in PMAY-Gramin scheme as many bonafide beneficiaries don’t have land of their own . ‘ We have today decided to allot a plot of government each measuring one katha five lessas to these genuine beneficiaries so that they can avail the benefits of the scheme.

 We also decided to expedite the execution of the JJM scheme so that the drinking water through taps is available to every rural household by the end of 2023 in this aspirational district.” He expressed happiness that over the last few months the performance indices of different development aspects have improved considerably in comparison to many districts in the list of 112 aspirational districts of the country. Legislators of Mangaldai , Sipajhar and Dalgaon Basanta Das , Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi and Mozibur Rahman respectively also attended the meeting. At the beginning Deputy Commissioner Pranab Kr Sarmah explained its objectives.
