Hyderabad : Dr Venaktesh Devanur, city based agri-biotech entrepreneur and scientist elected as President of World Neem Organisation at a just concluded 3rd International Neem Summit – 2026 and the 4th Global Neem Trade Fair was organized by the World Neem Organisation (WNO) at Pune
The World Neem Organisation (WNO) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the neem tree and its benefits for agriculture, health, environment, and industry. WNO was created as a global forum for people working with neem to share knowledge, research, and resources and to promote neem use around the world.
Its goals include: Promoting neem cultivation and plantation worldwide, Encouraging research on neem’s medicinal and agricultural benefits, Supporting production and commercialization of neem products and Educating people about neem’s role in sustainable agriculture, health, and environmental protection.
Dr. Venkatesh is active in several agriculture organizations. He is a founding member & secretary of BioAgri Inputs Producers Association (BIPA), the world’s oldest trade body in the BioAgri space. He held Vice President of the World Neem Organization before being elected as a its President. He is a Director in a joint venture with Koppert Biological Systems (Netherlands).
Dr. Venkatesh Devanur is a pioneer in India’s bio-pesticide and organic agriculture industry, running companies that develop eco-friendly crop protection and soil health products.

During the conference, a White Paper on the Status of the Neem Industry was released.
A documentary on the importance of collecting and processing neem seeds and fruits was also released for the benefit of neem seed and fruit suppliers, highlighting the significance of proper collection and value addition in the neem supply chain.
More than 150 participants from India and overseas attended the summit. Eminent scientists and experts presented scientific papers highlighting the importance of neem in agriculture, human health, cancer control, and other important areas leading to collaborative opportunities for academy and industry.
