GUWAHATI : If everything goes according to plan, electric engines will start running in Assam from August. This was stated by Anshul Gupta, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway. According to NF Railway sources, 334 km of railway track has been electrified in 2020 21. This has been done from Jalpaiguri to Guwahati in West Bengal. On July 14, Anshul Gupta reviewed the electrification work with other senior railway officials.
He said electrification of the line from New Guwahati to Jagirod is also going on on a war footing. It is expected to be completed by September. in addition to this Work on Jogicave-Dudhnai line is also progressing at full speed. It is likely to be completed by next December.
