GUWAHATI : Assam Jatiya Parishad has launched a legal battle against the breach of covid protocol at a large scale during the BJP’s jan-ashirwad yatra, AJP. The party has lodged an FIR against a dozen leaders including Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma and Kamrup City District Deputy Commissioner Vishwajit Pegu at various police stations including Dispur in Guwahati. According to national council leaders, those in charge of law making deliberately violated the law and hurt the sentiments of the people by violating the law. The party has already lodged ANFIR against this serious act at several police stations including Dispur and Latashil in Guwahati. The Jan-Ashirwad Yatra will also file an FIR against those who broke the covid protocol tomorrow and at other police stations in the area touched by the Jan Aashirwad Yatra.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowalon Sunday  began his three-day Jan Ashirvad Yatra from Guwahati. He was received at the airport by other party leaders including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita. Sonowal is accompanied by Union Minister of State Rameshwar Teli. The duo participated in a party rally in Azara. Union Minister Sonowal addressed the media at guwahati party headquarters in the evening. More than 1000 people are gathering in this party relay. Sonowal and Rameshwar Teli will visit various places in upper Assam and interact with people. The Jan Ashirvad Yatra will conclude in Dibrugarh on Monday.

The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has lodged a complaint against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other Ministers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) including Deputy Commissioner Kamrup (M) Biswajit Pegu for violating the Covid-19 protocol during the three-day ‘Jan Ashirvad Yatra’ which began on Saturday.The complaint includes Union Port, Shipping and Waterways former Chief Minister Of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister Jogen Mohan, Minister Vimal Bora, State BJP President Bhavesh Kalita, Union Minister Rameshwar Teli, MP K Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Topan Kumar Gogoi, Dilip Saikia, Pallab Lochan Das, Quan Oza. Sarbananda Sonowal had arrived in Guwahati yesterday to participate in the ‘Jan Ashirwar Yatra’ organised by the BJP. “We saw that jana ashirvat yatra has been organised by assam state BJP, which has also been attended by government officials, to welcome minister Sarbananda Sonowal, in which more than 200 people participated in total violation of SOP,” AJP said in the complaint. This is similar to the deliberate violation of IPC 188/269/270/271 which provides significant caution of “the possibility of spreading the infection of a disease dangerous to life”.
