Bhopal: The state government has fixed Minimum Support Price for 32 minor forest produce. These include support price of 18 small forest species for the first time. This prominently includes Giloy, Kalmegh, Gudmar and Jamun seeds.
Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has informed that in April this year, the minimum price of 14 minor forest produce has also been increased. It includes Mahua phool, Achar Gulli, honey, Palas lakh and Kusum lakh. In this way, the minimum price of 32 minor forest produce has been fixed so far. With the fixation of collection value of minor forest produce, forest dwellers will not have to depend on middlemen for these forest produce, this will also improve their economic condition.
Among the 18 minor forest produce whose minimum support price has been fixed by the state government for the first time, are Jamun seeds Rs 42, Amla Pulp Rs 52, Marking nut (Bhilava) Rs 9, Anant Phool Rs 35, Amaltas seeds Rs 13, Arjun ki chaal Rs 21, Giloy Rs 40, Conch seeds Rs 21, Kalmegh Rs 35, Bibadang seeds Rs 94, Dhawai phool Rs 37, Forest Basil leaves Rs 22, Kutaj (dry bark) Rs 31, Macoy (Dry bark) Rs 24, Apang sapling Rs 28, Tamarind (with seed) Rs 36, Shatavri dry roots Rs 107 and Gudmar Rs 41 per kg
