GM Souther Railway  meets MPs

R.N. Singh, General Manager, Southern Railway convened a meeting with Hon’ble Members of Parliament representing the constituencies served by Thiruvananthapuram Division today – 01st March, 2023.

The Hon’ble Members of Parliament Shri Kodikkunnil Suresh(Mavelikara Lok Sabha Constituency), Shri N K Premachandran(Kollam Lok Sabha Constituency), Shri Anto Antony(Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha Constituency), Shri Thomas Chazhikkadan(Kottayam Lok Sabha Constituency), Shri Benny Behanan(Chalakudy Lok Sabha Constituency), Thiru Vijaya Vasanth(Kanniyakumari Lok Sabha Constituency), , Shri A.M Ariff(Alappuzha Lok Sabha Constituency), Shri Adoor Prakash(Attingal Lok Sabha Constituency), Shri Dean Kuriakose(Idukki Lok Sabha Constituency) and Rajya Sabha MPs, Shri Jose K Mani, Shri Binoy Vishwam, Shri John Brittas, Shri A A Rahim and Ms.Jebi Mather attended the meeting.

Shri R Mukund, Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division and Principal Head of the Departments of Southern Railway also participated in the meeting.

Shri R.N. Singh, General Manager, Southern Railway, welcomed the Hon’ble MPs and apprised them of the various aspects of Southern Railway’s working, detailing the achievements and development of various passenger amenities.

Major infrastructural developmental works that have been completed in Thiruvananthapuram Division were highlighted.  Ongoing projects in the Division and proposed works were also explained.  Plans are underway for Redevelopment of Kanniyakumari, Ernakulam Jn, Ernakulam Town and Kollam Jn. railway stations.  Moreover, 15 railway stations in Thiruvananthapuram Division are to be developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Hon’ble MPs held discussions on various aspects related to train services, stoppages, passenger facilities, acquisition of land for railway projects, expeditious completion of railway projects, etc.  They also offered their valuable suggestions for the improvement of services and development of Thiruvananthapuram Division.
