Govt revised minimum procurement price of onions

The Government has revised the Minimum Assured Procurement Price (MAPP) of onion stocks from one thousand 270 rupees to one thousand 580 rupees per quintal. The revised MAPP has been done at the request of the state governments, which has come into effect from today. In this regard, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister, Pralhad Joshi today chaired a meeting with officials from the Department of Consumer Affairs, National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) and National Cooperative Consumer’s Federation of India (NCCF) in New Delhi. In a social media post, Mr Joshi said that the meeting was held to facilitate effective procurement of quality onion stocks and ensure better returns to farmers.
