Heritage School hosts 67th National School Games in Yogasana (U-19)

Kolkata: The Heritage School, Kolkata, hosted the 67th National School Games in Yogasana (U-19 Boys & Girls) organised by CISCE in association with School Games Federation of India (SGFI).

The inaugural ceremony of the event was graced by Mr. Syed Rahim Nabi, retired professional Indian international footballer as the Chief Guest. Dr. G. Immanuel, Chairman, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations ( CISCE) was the Guest of Honour.

Nearly 392 students from various schools across India participated in this event which will continue till 21st December.

“Sports is a vital part of School education which equips a child with various skills that prepares them for the future challenges, ” said Mr. Syed Rahim Nabi during his address at the inaugural ceremony.

“Yoga is an important part of the National Education Policy and it should be a part of the curriculum, ” said Dr. G. Immanuel during his address at The Heritage School, Kolkata.

During these days the students will be participating in various types of Yoga competition including Rhythmic Yogasana.

“Yoga is an important part of our life which helps in improving our lifestyle. We are happy to see children actively participating in this National event, ” said Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal, The Heritage School, Kolkata.

The inaugural session of the event was also participated by Dr. Ranjan Mitter, Principal, The Future Foundation School and Principal Coordinator, CISCE Sports & Games, Mr. Shailesh Pandey, Joint Sports Coordinator, CISCE Sports and Games, West Bengal and Northeast, Mr. Arijit Basu, Deputy Secretary, Finance, CISCE, Ms. Mousumi Saha, Principal, National English School, Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions and many more.
