Kokrajhar, Aug 27 : Kokrajhar police along with 129 Bn CRPF seized contraband heroin weighing over 2 kg worth over Rs 9 crore in international markets from a truck at Srirampur in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Friday.
Addressing Reporters in Kokrajhar today, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Prateek Thube said the suspected heroin weighing 2kg 200 gm and worth Rs 9 crore was recovered from a secret chamber hidden inside a truck during a checking at Srirampur. The truck bearing registration number GJ-01 ET 3067 was on way to Jodhpur in Rajasthan from Manipur Senapati.
Two persons identified as Anil Kumar and Bikash Kumar were arrested. Further investigation is on to unearth the drug network.
