High Voltage Election Campaign in Rajasthan Intensifies; PM Modi and CM Gehlot Address Rallies

Jaipur: The election campaign for the assembly elections in Rajasthan has now intensified. Leaders of BJP, Congress and other parties are addressing election meetings at various places. Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election rally at Baytu in Barmer district this afternoon. This is the second election meeting of the Prime Minister after the announcement of election in the state. Congress leader and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will also hold election meetings in support of party candidates at three places today.

AIR correspondent said, “Special polling teams are going door-to-door to voters for home voting. 102-year-old Bhuri Devi of Ghasedi village in Bhinmal assembly constituency in Jalore district has cast her vote in the ballot box from home. 101-year-old Hiralal of Jinapur village of Khandar Assembly and 101-year-old Ramkanya of Kherli village also use their franchise through home voting. Many disabled people who cast their vote using the home voting facility welcomed this initiative of the Election Commission. This initiative has proved to be a boon for hundreds of disabled people in the state who were unable to reach the polling booth due to various difficulties. A total of 62 thousand 927 voters have registered for a home voting facility as an option.
