Mangaldai :: Partha Pratim Saharia and Nishita Deka have emerged champions in the senior boys and girls categiries respectively in the I-Day challenge inter Mangaldai badminton championship at the Gopinath Bordoloi Indoor Stadium here on August 15. In the championship organized by the Mangaldai Club in association with the Darrang district badminton association (DDBA) in connection with the 75th Independence Day celebration, Partha defeated Arnab Sarma in the senior boys while Nishita beat Lipsita Das in the senior girls.
On the other hand in the junior boys Bhargab Deka clinched the title defeating Harshel Kashyap. Organizers also adjudged Prarthana Deka and Kabyashri Kashyap for emerging shuttlers award. After the championship Basanta Deka, Secretary ,(DDBA) and Dr Ujjal Sarma, member the Mangaldai Club gave away the trophies to the winners.
