In Assam, a new militant outfit, United Liberation Bodoland, was killed in an encounter with two militant security forces

Guwahati :In Assam, security forces killed two suspected militants of a militant outfit that was formed recently in Kokrajhar district and busted their hideout. Assam Police Additional Director General GP Singh tweeted on Saturday that security forces busted a United Liberation of Bodoland (ULB) camp in Ultapani area of Kokrajhar in an operation launched on Friday night. Police said, two United Liberation Bodoland militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Ultapani area of Kokrajhar district early this morning. According to police sources, acting on an intelligence inputs, a joint team of police and army chased the militants in Langsang forests of the district.

When the security forces personnel approached them, the militants started firing at them. Two militants were killed in the retaliatory firing. The slain militants have been identified as Jangshar Mushari (23) and Janak Kumar Brahma (23). Both of them are facing charges of extortion in the district. According to the information received, he was earlier associated with ndfb (s) group. It may be recalled that united liberation bodoland militants have released a video saying they will carry out bomb blasts across the state from next October if their demand for a separate Bodoland state is not met. The militant outfit is demanding distribution of 50-50 to Assam.
