New Delhi: At the 4th Asian Para Games being held in Hangzhou, China, India reached 58 medal mark including, 15 gold, 20 silver, and 23 bronze. In Women’s Long Jump-T47 event, Suresh Nimisha Chakkungalparambil claimed gold. In Men’s Shot Put-F57 event, Soman Rana won silver whereas Sema Hokato Hotozhe bagged bronze.

the Men’s 1500m-T13 event, Sharath Makanahalli Shankarappa clinched silver and Balwant Singh won bronze. In the Women’s 1500m-T11 event, Rakshita Raju bagged gold while Lalitha Killaka won silver.In the Men’s Javelin Throw-F46 event, Sweeping all three medals, Sundar Singh Gujar won gold, Rinku bagged silver, and Ajeet Singh grabbed bronze for India.
In women’s 61kg powerlifting, Zainab Khatoon clinched the 50th medal. Raj Kumari claimed a bronze medal in the same event. In the men’s javelin throw event, Sumit Antil kickstarted today’s medal streak by setting the new world record in the F64 category with a throw of 73.29 metres. He clinched the gold medal.
Meanwhile, Pushpendra Singh settled for the bronze in the same event. In men’s F37/38 Javelin throw, India’s Haney clinched the second gold of the day with a best throw of 55.97m. The Indian duo, Harvinder Singh and Sahil won silver in men’s recurve archery. In women’s F54/55 discus throw, Pooja won silver as she registered a personal best mark of 18.17m. In the women’s doubles compound Archery team event, Sheetal and Sharita lost to China in the finals and settled for the Silver. In men’s doubles archery, Rakesh Kumar and Suraj Singh combine to win silver.
Earlier today, in the women’s class 4 table tennis event, Bhavina Patel had to contend with bronze after losing to China’s Gu Xiaodan. The Indian pair of Pramod Bhagat and Manisha Ramadass in mixed doubles badminton secured a bronze while, Manasi Joshi and Vaishnavi clinched bronze in women’s singles SL3 badminton. Sakshi Kasana bagged bronze in women’s F54/55 discus throw while Narayan Thakur in men’s T35 200m and Shreyansh Trivedi in men’s T37 200m, bagged bronze. Sandeep Dangi in the Table tennis men’s singles event seized a bronze.
