Indian Army build gymnasium for local youths

Guwahati : A gymnasium built by the Red Horns Army under its project Operation Sadbhavana for the overall physical development of the local youths of village Domini in Baksa district has been opened to the community on February 22. In this connection an inauguration event was organised by the Army to handover the outdoor gymnasium which was well represented by the civil society and the local administration. The gymnasium was inaugurated by Ghanshyam Das, Executive Member, BTC.

 During the event, guidance and encouragement was given to local youth to overcome barriers by persistence and perseverance in order to become successful, serve the country and to live a dignified life. It is fervently hoped the project will assist the local youth to participate in sporting activities and contribute towards nation building. Indian Army believes a sporting nation has always held good, one with sustainable avenue which in line with “Fit India” mission of the government.

 Constant efforts are being made to empower youth at grass root level, especially those from marginalized and rural backgrounds by providing them access to sports and education. This would help them become confident and competent individuals, thus augmenting their, holistic development and the growth of community. In such an endeavor to engage with youths this modern gymnasium was built . This was stated in a press communiqué of the Red Horns Army.
