Indian Coast Guard evacuates trainee navigating officer seeking medical aid

Indian Coast Guard evacuated a 21- year old trainee navigating officer on 26th July seeking medical aid. The trainee officer was deputed on a merchant ship on its way from Cochin to Singapore. The Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Port Blair received an urgent medical evacuation request from the master of the ship located approximately 450 Nautical Miles West of Great Nicobar.

The Indian Coast Guard launched a rescue operation immediately from Campbell Bay and successfully evacuated the patient on the same day at 2PM. The patient was admitted to PHC Campbell Bay for medical treatment. The condition of the patient was reported to be stable
