Kokrajhar: The Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) is all set to commence in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) districts from August 7, during which children aged 0-5 years, along with pregnant women, will be covered.
A meeting to take a review of preparedness cum media sensitization meeting for the special immunisation drive was held at the Director of Health Services office, Kokrajhar.
Dr D Bhowal, District Immunization Office, Kokrajhar, announced that this time the immunization will be conducted in three rounds-1st Round on 7th to 12nd August 2023, 2nd round on 11th to 16th September and 3rd round on 9th to 14th October 2023.
Total 2364 children in the age group of 0-5 years and 434 pregnant women are targeted in the 1st round of immunisation.
Dr Bhowal emphasized that the IMI aims to reach out to partially vaccinated children and those left out, including pregnant women, to ensure effective coverage in the region. Moreover, the initiative seeks to achieve the target of eliminating Measles-Rubella.
He also said the immunization process will be digitalized using U-Win, a system aimed at improving tracking of beneficiaries and reducing the number of left-outs.
Leaders of various student.organisations were also present in the meeting.
