International Women’s Day 2023, celebrated with the theme ‘DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality’ by Thiruvananthapuram Division of Southern Railway at Rail Kalyana Mandapam, Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram today (08th March 2023). 250 Women Employees, Supervisors and Officers attended the celebrations. Dr. Divya S.Iyer IAS, District Collector,Pathanamthitta was the chief guest of the function. Shri Lipin Raj IRPS, Sr.Divisional Personnel Officer, Thiruvananthapuram Division welcomed the gathering. Shri R Mukund IRSME, Divisional Railway Manager(DRM), Thiruvananthapuram Division delivered the presidential address. Shri M Vijaya Kumar IRSME, Addl.Divisional Railway Manager(ADRM) and Shri S Gopi Krishna, Divisional Secretary, Southern Railway Mazdoor Union, offered felicitations.
While addressing the gathering Shri R Mukund, DRM stated that 24% (ie. 2149 nos.) of the employees are Women in Thiruvananthapuram Division, which is one of the highest in any division of Indian Railways. He also mentioned the steps taken for women empowerment in Railways.
Smt. Madhavi Vijayakumar, Vice President, Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Organization(SRWWO), Thiruvananthapuram Division offered felicitations and honoured women employees for their meritorious works and outstanding contributions.
