Kokrajhar: The International Youth day was celebrated in Kokrajhar on Thursday.
The National Health Mission (NHM) Kokrajhar along with National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), District Tobacco Control Cell and Assam Cancer Care Foundation observed the day at Srirampur High in Kokrajhar with various programmes.
A cycle rally was carried out on the occasion. TB screening and Awareness on Tobacco was also done among the youths.
Dr. Wasim Akhta Bari of Assam Cancer Care Foundation, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) District Coordinator Satish Haloi were the speakers and stressed on the burden & ill effects of Tobacco among the youths & advised them to stay away from Tobacco.
District Nodal Officer Tobacco Control Cell Dr. Kaushik Das said the International Youth day was celebrated at Srirampur High with various programmes including cycle rally and TB screening and Awareness on Tobacco.
