Happy Independence Day India. How India will celebrate Independence day amid coronavirus pandemic. Commemorating the nation’s independence from British rule, India will celebrate its 74th Independence Day this year, but with a slight twist. Owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, there will be no social gatherings, instead, all states and government offices have been asked to webcast their events and celebrations.Meanwhile, Journalists Association of Assam (JAA) has reiterated its appeal to the people of northeast India in general and media personnel in particular to hoist the National flag as a mark of paying respect to the martyrs of our freedom struggle. Defying the rhetoric diktats of some separatist militants of the region the JAA also called upon the patriotic citizens to celebrate the 74th Independence Day on 15 August 2020.The JAA statement, issued byJAA president Dhirendra Nath Chakravartty,Chief Advisor Bhupen Goswami and secretary Sudipt Sharma Chaudury, also requested the city based media persons and other patriotic citizens to join in the celebration of 74th Independence Day .Sangbadik Sangha Purbanchal, while urging every citizen in eastern India to hoist the national Tri-colour on 74th Independence Day on 15 August 2020 in their households and localities following the Covid-19 pandemic protocols, invites interested media persons and patriotic citizens to join its celebration at Industrial Estate Bamunimaidam (shed no. 28-a, bye-lane 2) in the city. Remembering the sacrifices of India’s valiant freedom fighters, the forum decides to unfurl the Tri-colour at 10 am, where limited participants are expected to pay tributes to the countless martyrs of India’s freedom struggle, said a statement issued by the SSP convener committee (comprising Rupam Barua, Nava Thakuria, Jagadindra Raychoudhury, Anjanil Kashyap, Iswar Mahanta, Chandra Kr Barua, and Sewali Kalita).
