Ernakulam:  After a prolonged legal battle, Jabbar got justice from the Kerala Administrative Tribunal.   Finding the petitioner Jabbar’s plea for a transfer genuine the Division Bench the Tribunal ordered to post the petitioner in his hometown.  Jabbar has been working in a government agriculture farm about 100 km away from his home and he was daily commuting a distance of over 200 km.

Advocate Salini T S , appearing for the petitioner argued that Jabbar  had to look after his ailing wife and age-old mother so the department  had to consider his request for transfer on humanitarian ground.    The counsel further argued that despite knowing about the physical and mental trauma the petitioner was subjected to, the officials did not consider his request for transfer which was absolutely genuine. Since the petitioner had almost sure  that the officials will not  consider his request, jabbar approached the court for justice, the counsel argued.

Accepting the argument of the counsel, the Tribunal   directed the concerned official to accept his transfer request and post him at the nearest possible workplace.
