Overall 75.2 per cent polling was witnessed across Jammu and Kashmir in the Phase-III of Panchayat Polls held on Saturday.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer, Shaleen Kabra, an overwhelming 83 per cent polling was witnessed in Jammu division and 55.7 per cent in Kashmir division. Meanwhile, counting of votes has begun and the results are expected by late evening today or tomorrow morning.
Pertinently, in the Phase-I of Panchayat Polls held on 17 November 2018, 74.1 per cent polling was recorded across the State with 64.5 per cent in Kashmir division and 79.5 per cent in Jammu division.
In second phase overall 71.1 per cent polling was witnessed across the State with 80.4 per cent polling in Jammu division and 52.2 per cent in Kashmir Division. For Phase-IV of Panchayat Polls, voting will take place on 27 November 2018.
