In Karnataka, 6,317 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported during the last 24 hours taking the total number of positive cases to 2,33,283. In all, 7,071 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in the state and the total number of recovered patients increased to 1,48,562. A record 115 covid patients lost their lives taking the death toll to 4,062.
According to the State Health Bulletin, 2,053 new Covid positive cases were reported from Bengaluru city followed by Mysuru with 597, Shivamogga 397 and Ballari with 319. Presently, 80,643 active patients are taking treatment in various hospitals in the state among them 695 are in ICU. Total 37,700 covid tests were carried during the last 24 hours and with this, the total number of tests have gone up to 20,75,086. Meanwhile, the State Health Department instructed the government and private hospitals to ensure that beds are immediately provided to patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Infections without a Covid test.
