Karnataka reports highest single day spike of 8,818 new Covid-19 cases

Karnataka reported the highest single day spike of 8,818 new Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 2,19,926. 6,629 people recovered and discharged from various hospitals in the State and the total number of recovered people have gone up to 1,34,811. 114 covid patients succumbed to the disease, with this the toll has increased to 3,831.

According to the State Health Bulletin 81,276 infected active patients are taking treatment in various hospitals in the State among them 716 are in ICU. 54,806 swab samples were tested across the State and the total number of tests have gone up to 19,93,760.  

The State recovery rate increased to 60.53 percent and the mortality rate went down to 1.74 percent.  Bengaluru city which reported 3,495 coronavirus cases in the  last 24 hours, added 34 new containment zones, taking the active zones tally to 13,482.

Meanwhile, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike along with several NGOs launched a portal to invite volunteers for the booth level management committees.
