Karnataka reports sudden spike of 9,386 new cases of COVID-19

Bangaluru: Karnataka reported a sudden spike of 9,386 new cases of coronavirus during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infections to 3,09 lakh.

Among the new cases, Bengaluru city recorded the highest number of 3,357 cases followed by Mysuru with 895 and Ballari with 550 fresh cases. 7,866 people were discharged from various hospitals after recovery bringing the total recoveries to two lakh ninteen thousand five hundred and fifty four. With 141 deaths, the toll in the state mounted to 5,232. A total number of 84,987 active patients are taking treatment in various hospitals.  A total of 26.48 lakh samples were tested so far, out of which 68,187 were tested yesterday alone.
