Kerala reports 339 new COVID-19 positive cases

Kerala continues to report surge of Covid cases, with 339 positive cases being confirmed today. State recorded highest local  transmission cases today as 133 persons contracted the disease through contact.
 
The capital city Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest number of covid cases with 95 new positive cases among which an alarming 88 persons got the disease through contact.
 
Poonthura and Aryanadu regions are the worst hit where severe restrictions are being implemented along with widespread covid testing.
 
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the situation is getting extremely serious, as the State is nearing to Community spread.
 
He urged the people to completely cooperate with the Covid Guidelines to contain the virus spread.
 
Meanwhile 149 persons recovered from the disease today in the State.
 
Presently 2895 active Covid cases are there in Kerala.
