Bhopal: ‘Mandu’ the famous ancient city of the state has established its special identity on the map of world tourism. The three-day ‘Mandu Utsav’ based on the theme ‘Khojne mein kho jao’ is going to start from February 13 to get tourists acquainted with the historical heritage and distinctive architecture of Mandu. Various musical performances, adventure sports, heritage walks, cycling, horse trails, storytelling and fishing during the festival will add to the excitement of tourists.
Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Shri Sheo shekhar Shukla told that during the Mandu festival, activities will be organized for tourists of all ages as per their interest. While children will enjoy treasure hunt, horse riding, fishing and cycle tours, the youth can dance to the tunes of famous music bands like Kabir Cafe and Mukt. Special stalls have been set up to give food lovers a taste of local cuisine along with traditional dishes. Exciting and recreational activities like heritage walk, adventure sports, storytelling have been arranged for tourists.
Shri Shukla said that the main objective of Mandu festival is to get tourists acquainted with ancient history and local culture and the importance and identity of a significant tourist destination. He informed that people of India and abroad will be connected to the tourist places of Mandu through the festival. Such events will not only familiarize people around the world with the special culture of rural Madhya Pradesh but will also help in realizing the dream of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh by creating new employment opportunities.
