Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu has issued directions for immediate safety audit and 100% checking of bridges constructed 20 years back. He also issued directions for undertaking repair or retrofitting work wherever required.
The Lieutenant Governor passed these directions during a meeting chaired to review the performance of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). He exhorted upon the officers to create earthquake resistant infrastructure in the future.
In another meeting, the Lieutenant Governor reviewed the progress of various steps taken for development of tourism sector in J&K.
