Maharashtra: 10,320 new COVID-19 cases reported

Maharashtra reported 10,320 new cases, taking the COVID-19 tally to 4,22,118. 265 fresh deaths has taken the toll to 14,994. As many as 7,543 patients were discharged from hospitals yesterday after they recovered from the viral infection.

The state Health department said that a total of  2,56,158 COVID-19 patients have been discharged so far in Maharashtra. The recovery rate in the state is now 60.68 per cent, while the fatality rate is 3.55 per cent. There are 1,50,966 active cases in the state, while the number of people tested so far stood at 21,30,098. While 8,99,557 people are currently placed under home quarantine, 39535 others are in institutional quarantine.

The COVID-19 tally in Mumbai increased to 1,14,287 with the addition of 1,100 new cases, while the death toll rose to 6,350 with 53 more patients succumbing to the infection.

According to BMC, so far, 87,074 patients, out of the total 1,14,287, have recovered from the disease. The BMC has done 5.26 lakh COVID-19 tests so far and from July 28, the civic body has increased the daily number of tests
