GUWAHATI: Member of Parliament Hira Sarania alias Naba Sarania might soon join the Trinamool Congress.
Speaking to The Hills Times, Sarania said, “It is not confirmed yet if I would join the TMC but talks are on. I have extended my support to the TMC and might support them also in the upcoming elections.”
“I feel that instead of Modi, Mamata Banerjee should become the Prime Minister of India and we are ready to extend full support to this cause. We have noticed that the parties in Assam over time have been working as a B-team of the ruling party and their actions seem to be benefiting the ruling party. So we need an alternative to those B-team parties,” he added.
Sarania further added that in the next elections, TMC will be the leading party in Assam.
A source from the TMC claimed that TMC might soon set up a strong base in Assam but things are yet to be confirmed on how the proceedings will take place.
