Market and government will work together to increase exports from the state – CM Shri Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that natural resources, minerals, water and forest resources are abundant in Madhya Pradesh. There is a lot of potential for increasing exports in the state. The government cannot work at its own level alone in the direction of increasing exports. The state government will work in this direction by taking along the entrepreneurs who are active and experienced. The market and the government will work together. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing Madhya Pradesh India’s Emerging Export Tiger Conclave at Commerce Festival 2021. This export conclave was held at Minto Hall to explore new opportunities related to exports in the state. This is a joint event of the Department of Commerce, Government of India and the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion of the state.

Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision of District as Export Hub will be implemented

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that keeping in view the District as Export Hub vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Export Promotion Council is being constituted in the state. It will start working in a week. Export Promotion Committees will also be constituted in each district. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan launched MP Trade Portal and Export Helpline. The Export Promotion Council will work to promote exports in the state. Similarly, Madhya Pradesh Trade Portal will act as a bridge for industrial units and exporters to explain the export related techniques and to connect exporters with major importers of the world. The problems of the exporters will be resolved immediately through the export helpline.

Focus on industrial development in the state

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that good governance, economy and employment are paramount for making Atma-nirbhar Madhya Pradesh. Investment has to be increased to boost employment opportunities. We are focusing on employment generation through rapid industrial development in the state. Despite the difficult circumstances of Corona, there has been a rapid increase in industrial investment in the state. Industries of pharma, auto, textile, garment, food processing and engineering sectors are being encouraged to invest in the state. 64 products of all the districts have been selected under the “One District One Product” scheme.

Focus on international market survey and demand there

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is a landlocked state, but there is a lot of diversity in our state. Export activities are also being conducted at the local level. To increase exports, it is necessary to focus on the quality of the products. International market survey for export potential and demand there, focus on product quality and flourishing value chain will be developed. It will be our endeavour to develop every district as an export hub. Efforts will be made for exports by processing the raw materials being produced in the districts and doing value addition.

Union Minister of State for Steel Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, State Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Omprakash Sakhlecha, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Minister Shri Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon and Deputy Chairman of State Policy and Planning Commission, Dr. Sachin Chaturvedi also addressed. Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Shri Sanjay Shukla informed about the conclave. In the conclave, there was a panel discussion on the topics of Madhya Pradesh as Export Power House, The Exports from Madhya Pradesh and Unleashing Export Opportunities. In this, officials of the Government of India, state government and representatives of various industries and business organisations and business units participated.
