Haflong : Demanding to stop the process of passing the Citizen (Amendment ) Bill 2016, the people of Dima Hasao 
organised a mass gathering at Taxi stand Haflong on Friday.
People from various communities gathered to oppose the CAB terming the bill as dangerous for the future for the indigenous people as it is being done on communal line.
Daniel Langthasa, newly elected Member of Autonomous Council addressing the gathering said this bill is being to pass in the winter session and the people should oppose the bill since the bill is controversial and almost all the states of NE are opposing the bill. He also said today’s programme will be up to 4 pm so that all the people can deliver their opinion on this burning issue. The programme was attended by various social organisations, political leaders from INC etc. to ventilate their grievances against the CAB.
